We have a global network of expert contributors including online sellers, ecommerce consultants and service providers. They do a fantastic job of helping our readers improve and grow their ecommerce businesses. But this industry is changing all the time, so we always need new authors.
Are you interested in writing a guide for us? The first thing you need to know is that we set the bar very high, so it is not a good fit for most people. This is not about submitting a “guest post” that we just throw out there. If you just want to get a link back to your site, you are in the wrong place.
We are also not looking for opinion pieces, or for articles that promote or advertise a business.

You have years of relevant experience. You have proven credentials and we can present you objectively to our readers as an expert.
Marketplace savvy
You understand online marketplaces, because you sell through them yourself, or spend a lot of time working with businesses that do.
A knowledge sharer
You believe in sharing what you know, and don’t hold back the best information. You’ll give our readers genuine, practical advice.

We are currently looking for articles for our Guides section. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive library of practical guides for ecommerce businesses.
If you can help fill a gap in our content, covering a relevant and in-demand topic, we would love to hear from you. Please take a look at our existing guides before suggesting ideas, as we don’t publish multiple articles on the same topic.
We are looking for articles that are:
Comprehensive
Covering everything on a narrow topic is much better than giving just the basics on a broad subject. We want to hear the whole story.
Practical advice
Our readers want to know what, why and how. They need to know what they should do, not just why something is important.
Evergreen
We want articles that will stay relevant for a good while. Tried-and-tested advice is better than news, speculation or temporary hacks.

How we work with contributors
We have a standard process that we like to stick to closely, particularly for new contributors. When we get to know an author well, we can often work through the steps more quickly.
We want to work with you to find a topic that is a great fit for your knowledge, new to Web Retailer, and that will provide a lot of value to our readers. It’s often a little different to the topic you first wanted to write about, and might take some back-and-forth to figure out.
It really helps to get a short outline laying out the main points of your article. If we have any feedback on how to make the article as valuable as possible for our readers, we would rather provide it before you have spent a lot of time writing.
At last! Now you can get your fantastic knowledge written up and sent back to us. We like to know approximately when you expect to have a draft ready, but it’s not usually a big deal if you need more time. It’s better to get it right than to do it quickly.
